Queen of Hearts – StarJam’s First Song

Queen of Hearts was written by two of StarJam’s most talented songwriters, Jono Heaps and Renée Maurice, and celebrates the life of Princess Diana and her impact on the world.    Nine fellow Jammers joined Jono and Renée to sing and record the heartfelt song.

Queen of Hearts was produced by Eddie Rayner and recorded at Neil Finn’s Auckland studio in January 2007. The song was released by EMI Music NZ in May 2007 and was formally launched at Air New Zealand House, with Dave Dobbyn as MC.

The song received much media attention and was featured on TVNZ's Close Up on 24th May 2007. The singers also received invitations to perform on two seperate occasions on TVNZ's Breakfast Show

StarJam would like to acknolwedge the generosity of Chris Caddick and the team at EMI Music NZ, Air New Zealand for their support, Neil Finn for the use of his studio, Eddie Rayner for producing the song, parents and families for supporting the singers, Gretchen Dainty, Darryl Pascoe and Marc Brunzel for assisting with transport. Our Sound Engineers Neil Baldock and Benjamin Knapp, Singing Coach Rob Edmonds, Lead Guitarist Jolyon Mulholland, Bass Guitarist Ben Turua, Drummer Patrick Kuhtze, and last but not least Designworks for the design.
