We are thrilled to announce the Jamathon, an exciting new peer-to-peer fundraising initiative from StarJam! This event empowers our community to set challenges for themselves and make a difference for StarJam. Anyone can sign up on our online fundraising platform, Raisely, set a personal goal, and find sponsors. Alternatively, you can choose to sponsor a Jammer or any of our fantastic Jamathon participants as they achieve their goals.
This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate reaching new milestones with our amazing Jammers and support a great cause! Whether you are a Jammer, whānau, an amazing supporter, or part of our wider community, we encourage you to set a goal that raises the bar for you and inspires others!
This year's Jamathon theme is superheroes – so put on your cape and be a hero for StarJam!
What is the Jamathon?
The Jamathon is a new StarJam peer-to-peer fundraising initiative that everyone can be part of!
- - It is being managed on an online platform (Raisely) where you can create your fundraising page or sponsor other participants
- - Set a personal goal you can achieve before the end of the campaign on 21 September
- - The goal can be related to music, dance, song, or any personal passion!
- - All superheroes are invited to celebrate their achievements at the end of the Jamathon at their regional Jamathon parties.
If you are wondering what your personal goal might be, some ideas could be:
- - Dancing for an hour every day
- - Creating a new choreography
- - Learning the lyrics to a new song
- - Writing a song
- - Performing for an audience, or
- - Creating your own challenge!
For example, Laia, our events manager, has challenged herself to dance 20 minutes every day from 1st August with the goal to raise $500 for our Jammers.
Key Dates
📆 5 August 2024: Start setting up your profile and begin raising money
📆 21 September 2024: you are welcome to join our Jamathon Party* in your region!
* Dates and times of each Jamathon party will be confirmed closer to the 21 September (not all regions are hosting a party so an online celebration will also be available)
Local Events
We will hold a local Jamathon party in most StarJam regions to celebrate everyone's amazing goals and fundraising efforts. Feel free to join the party! Anyone who raises $10 on their Jamathon profile (or paper sheet) will receive free entry into the Jamathon Party. Otherwise, there is a $10 koha at the door*.
* Note: These incentives are only available where Jamathon parties are being held and are non-transferable to other events such as online, and are non-redeemable for any other cash or prize

How to Participate
- 1. Create a fundraising page in Raisely [link here]: Set up your profile as an individual or a team.
- 2. Choose a goal: Decide on a fun and challenging goal to raise money.
- 3. Find sponsors: Share your page with friends, family, colleagues and wider community to gather support.
